It sounds to me that De Los Santos is finally understanding that he will not open. I'm very hopeful that the Moran amendment will pass the Senate on June 20, thereby defunding horse slaughter inspections. De Los Santos will just have to find another way to make a living, like the rest of us. There is no honor in slaughter, specially that of our loyal and beautiful horses. I am the 80% of Americans who oppose horse slaughter, and I dont want my tax dollars frivolously squandered for the atrocious purpose of horse slaughter inspections via the USDA. What kind of a people would we become if we allowed such inhumanity back into our culture? Very shameful indeed.

Actually, years ago I found out our Senator at least knows his way around a grocery store. I was trying to get an increase in SNAP benefits at the time, and in an attempt to be witty said, "I'm sure you haven't been to the grocery store in a while" and proceed to do a cost analysis of a peanut butter sandwich. Apparently the letter made it to his sample of constituent letters, because the next time I saw him at a party event the first words he said to me was, "I'll have you know I do all the grocery shopping in my house!" Thanks for getting the recipe for us! That will be supper this week, it's 100 here!

Lets have less talk and more action from Shinseki and other government officials. Talk is cheap. By the time VA gets their act together (if ever), we Vietnam vet will have all died off. I served for 20 years and two of those in Vietnam. Would not like to have to wait more than the five years I already have.

Someone's got to pay for this ill-advised boondoggle. Wait, I know--THE TAXPAYERS who don't need or use it, so the few privleged who work in Santa Fe, but choose not to live there can have their own private commuter service--never mind the many many people who have to face disgustingly filthy never-on-time buses packed with gangsters, huffers and crackheads while trying to get to work on time or home safely, and having to spend 3-4 hours a day on an 11-minute car commute trying to do it, as I did before I gave up and went back to my car. As always--the very few get an expensive entitlement, while the rest of us psy for it while walking to work--it's faster than the busses, and probably safer.

One more step up the totalitarian ladder--sure let's turn off granny's heat and lights (private utilities) when her grandson borrows the car, gets a "ticket" from one of these loathesome authoritarian surveillance devices from which there is no legal recourse, and doesn't even know about it. So, she freezes to death, or has to face some nameless, faceless bureaucratic entity empowered to risk her life over some kid's "ticket." WHERE IS THE RULE OF LAW? WHERE IS THE RIGHT TO FACE THE ACCUSER? WHERE IS THE RIGHT TO ONE'S DAY IN COURT? CIRCUMVENTED--EVEN ABROGATED BY THE DESIRE FOR PROFITS for the private providers of this nasty surveillance system and the city. Where will it stop, will it never end until we're all under the boot?

They want to hide the records cause they show that the licenses to produce were given to fat cat businessmen and not people that actually know anything about the plants they are growing. You can grow peanuts and push fertilizer for a greater yield but if you do that with Marijuana then all those chemicals are left behind adulterating the medicine.

In New Mexico there are more than a hundred of Foreign Medical Professionals, including more than 40 MDs and Nurses which have their foreign credentials evaluated, a lot of experience in the medical field and are bilinguals, fluent in English and Spanish. All are legal residents of the State and they just want to enter into Nursing practice in this State with nursing shortage. Some of them have been applying to Nursing Schools with their credits but they need those credits they earned to be accepted for schools as a fast track for this workforce already trained to get into the school and help with the providers shortage in the State. I find it interesting that comments in favor of this article are printed but past posts have not since they call into question the validity of the source. Clear biased journalism in my opinion.

This article was so off mark and manipulated by the subject party that it is ludicrous. This mother only wants what is best for her children and is fighting to do so. She endured years of lies and manipulation including two children fathered by the now transgender husband with another woman while living in supposed matrimony with his wife. What is crazy is that she is that she is an LGBT proponent yet she is being incorrectly portrayed as the opposite. All because she followed court orders to NOT TALK TO THE MEDIA which the article subject did not.

One would think that the party in violation of that order would have been admonished, right? NOT! In an election year (when this article was written) it would not be in the courts best interest to admonish and possibly show bias to a Transgender who is so public. All the while the children are subjected to an adult who threatens the life of her developmentally challenged child and forces her pre-teen to take care of that child and two others in diapers while the adults go off to play. Neglect is abuse.

So the issue is not one of gender or lifestyle. In the eyes of the Mother, it is about the health and welfare of HER children. When this article says the kids come first, the history of this case has been anything but. Both parents of the subject children have abuse and neglect in their history and, in my opinion, only one has taken the steps to address it and is trying to ensure the chains of abuse are not passed on to their children. The other lives and acts from learned behaviors and leaves little chance for these children to be free of the long term effects of their abuse.

However, in our politically correct society our children suffer due to bureaucrats who are charged with being advocates for our children but are more concerned with not getting sued that the needs of the child are lost in self preservation priorities. Few are willing to step up to say what is right for fear that they will be labeled as "predigest" against LGBT.

I challenge the LGBT community, and this reporter, to dig deeper than the flag waiving and look at the actions of this individual with respect to how it affects the children. My guess is that challenge will go unheeded because it is less about the truth and more about what the story can do to benefit your cause.....or byline.
